At 6:45 pm on Thursday February 13th 240 students- give or take a few- showed up to the MHS semi-formal dance and freaking rocked it. From the singing to the shouting and the dancing, I think it is safe to say that this event was quite the hit among the student body- so much so that people showed up early and stayed till the end. Many students were dressed in snazzy fashion with brightly colored dresses and fresh ties. The lights were low so you couldn’t see people jumping around pretending to know how to dance but honestly people were having too much fun to even care how they looked.  Julia Courtney (2021) said,”I feel like people had such low expectations but it was just so much fun!”  Genevieve Brintnall (2021) agreed, “They totally missed out!”

At one point the crowd danced themselves into a huge congo line that grew so long students began to spiral into each other.  It was pretty sic that kids who didn’t even know each other were juking and holding onto each shoulders- cracking up.  And at one point Ms.Mackinnon (History) and Mr. Sweet (World Language) joined the crowd rocking out to the Macarena.  See you at the next dance!
